LIZZIE’S TESTIMONY
I once knew a girl who’s childhood was ordinary. When she turned 14 her parents separated. Her world came crashing down. She met a guy who was 20 years old, moved out of her mom’s house and moved in with him. He was an abusive alcoholic she got pregnant at 15 and dropped out of high school. Had her baby at 16. Her son was 3 lbs. and 14 oz., and has a disability called Spina Bifida, Hydrocafelous, which he has a shunt and feeding tube. She felt alone, but knew she couldn't properly take care of him. So she put him up for adoption. At age 16, it was the hardest decision she had to make. She has guilt and shame, but knew that it was the best for him. She got into drugs to try and forget the pain. She got put on probation at the age of 18 for possession of drugs, and was court ordered to the Genesis Center. That was a whole new atmosphere for her, but the girl I speak about is me.
My name is Elizabeth [Lizzie]. I am 19 years old now and I was saved and baptized within the first six months of being at the Genesis Center. God has taken all the guilt and shame away and replaced it with peace, love, joy, and happiness. I know that one day I will be reunited with my son either on this earth or in Heaven. God has blessed me with my GED, my own home, an assistant manager position at a retail store, and my perseverance to obtain my college degree.
